2016.09.18_The Gospel Which Overcomes Despair

[Luke 7:11-17]

God
is eternally the source of blessedness.
God shares His blessedness to
all who are in Him (Gen 22:18).
He sent His Son to the world
so that the world may have His blessedness
through His Son (1 Jn 4:9).
However, despair and hopelessness is always lurking,
for a shadow of misfortunes hangs over the world,
and people are weary.
Jesus Christ
has compassion for this world
and thus desires to heal the world
and give God’s happiness.
The Lord who met with the widow of Nain in the path of despair,
is the Lord of us all (Lk 7:16).
The Lord who is with us by the Holy Spirit (1 Co 3:16)
does not only save us
from the misfortunes of this world
but wants us to live happily in His eternal kingdom (Jn 14:2-3).
There is no despair in the gospel.
○Let us remember that the gospel
which overcomes despair
is made alive through our action.
○Let us repent and restore our soul
and change our hearts and actions
in order to overcome despair and hopelessness.
○Let us remember that
God’s blessedness is a privilege
given to those who proclaim the gospel.

Summary

Those who havefallen into the swamp of despair

It is natural for Christians, who believe Jesus and are saved, to lead their faith lives with all of their hearts and strength. However, there are two kinds of Christians: those who devote their lives to their faith lifeand those who meet minimum requirementsfor entering heaven. In fact when all of those come to church for the first time, they would experience being freed from their sins and be greatly touched, but, unfortunately, many of them end up failing to maintain the first day’s inspiration, and even totally losing it.

One of the reasons why many Christians cannot sustain the first inspiration, though they havehad spiritual experience, is becausethey are exhausted with their lives’ hardship. Of course, everyone has experiencedfallinginto despair in this world. People are easily hur,t both physically and mentally, in the circumstances that are governed by wealth. Those who are exhausted with the daily lives’ hardship, even though they havereceived abundant grace, are not willing to focus on their spiritual lives. It is more likely especially in the case of Korea, in which materialism and favoritism prevail, or indeveloping countries, where people are fed up with violence and poverty. They are not able to pay attention to spiritual matters, as they are troubled by matters in their daily lives.

At this point, church should be the place that makes the force of despair disappear, where all seeds of curses perish, and where God’s happiness prevails. Many people are bothered by the fear that they might be hurt again as they have been hurt intheir private matters. There may be caseswhereone person, who does not apparently seem to have problems, might be about to collapse from hurt. It would be masking their hurt against their will to tell them, “The world is troubling place, so just bear withit.” If an evangelist regards one’s despair as something light and just ignores it, it would be hard for those who are exhausted with their hardship to come to the church.

Jesus, Who Brings Pleasure Back to Those Who Are in Despair

There was a widow in a village, Nain. She, who had struggled with her life, was faced with another trouble; her only son had died. She had to face the worst two things in the world that most arehardly able to stand. Her son brought meaning to her life and sustained her. Sustaining life as a widow would have been a gloomy situation.

Thewidow was totally in despair. However, on her way along with her son’s coffin, she happened to meet with Jesus. Jesus told the widow in despair, “Don’t cry”, and commanded her dead son, “Young man, get up!” The dead young man was raised up, and those who saw the shocking scene gave glory to God. If the widow had not met with Jesus, she would have fallen into a severely miserable life. But, she met with Jesus in the darkness of despair, thereby gaining hope and joy.

The Lord who helped the widow also helps us now. He is willing to help us and knows our weakness better than anyone else. While he prepares rooms in heaven for us, we, who are left in the world, are faced with all kinds of despair. We have to seek the Lord’s help ratherthan take them for granted. The Lord will raise up those who are frustrated and walking in the way of despair, and settle down all our desperations.

The Gospel, the Command of the Lord that Stops Despair

The Gospel is the Lord’s command that stops despair. For people who belong to the world, despair is unavoidable. Many people are discouraged, going through many kinds of unfortunate events. As the old saying goes, “Once bitten twice shy”, they are prepared to shrink back, even before misfortune happens. However, we live by the Lord’s command that calms down the fierce waves ofthe world. The Lord, who has saved us by breaking the law of despair, will take us to heaven. Therefore, we must become accustomed to blocking the way of misfortune and despair by God’s help.

In order to do so, we have to have ‘the power of God’s happiness’ in our hearts. This does not mean that we are mentally relieved just by covering the scars and despairs in our hearts. Just as Jesus became flesh and came to the world so that we could see God through Him, the power of God’s happiness clearly appears before us. A life of faith is a life of experiencing that very power.

The first step to revealing the power of God’s happiness is to respect and care other members in Christ. As this effort continues and people’s scars get healed, more and more people will open their minds toward others. Consequently, if there is sincere fellowship among the saints, God’s help will emerge and block despair, and those who experience the power will realize the way to overcome the fear of despair.

Let Us Be the Church that Overcomes Despair with Jesus’ Gospel!

We have to make the church overcome despair with Jesus’ gospel. For this, first, we have to always be aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit, and not to lose respect and awe toward the Holy Spirit. We have to always be conscious of the eyes of the Holy Spirit who watches our minds and behaviors. We must not ignore the moment when the Holy Spirit is about to work.

Second, by finding God’s help in our daily lives we have to give thanks to God and testify it. If we are living without accidents and in peace, it is the testimony that God is blocking numerous accidents that we otherwise would have beenfaced with. Therefore, we have to remember that God is always helping us and give thanks for it. Many people would regard God’s help as a coincidence. However, we have to find the traces of God’s help that are hidden in our daily lives, thereby giving continual thanks to God. If we do not appreciate God’s help, even after we have received it, it means thatwedo not believe God’s help, which is the same as rejecting His help.

Third, we have to experience God’s miracles often. Christians have daily testimonies of God’s miracles. With the experiences of God’s miraculous work, we have to have continual fellowship among otherchurch members.

Fourth, we have to comfort each member. We must not stop using encouraging words. In church, pains in our heart caused in our daily lives should be healed as well as our spiritual problems. People can be greatly comforted just by some words of caring and respect and understanding of their pains.

The Gospel is not fully completed just by listening. The Gospel enables us to gain victory with God’s help. To be victorious, all parts of the church have to struggle and devote themselves. The Lord is our shield, and we are troops that hold the shield. If we do not go out and fight, having a shield does nothing. We have to stand and serve the Lord’s church, fighting against the enemies’ schemes. God wants to unfold His happiness in us. We have to welcome His work. We are to let God work in us.

Semuon’s Letter

Power in the past has gone that was like a steam locomotive running with emitting out smoke, but then an old steam locomotive that rarely breathes has endured again and again by this time. I used to run like a steam locomotive that spews out its smoky power, but now this old steam locomotive can barely catch its breath yet has endured this whole time until now. There were times when I just felt like crying out loud.

The only thing that I have wanted to testify about for the last half a century is ‘The Picture of God’s Will’. However, so many people have brushed past me, but like a flat soda, there is nothing left. I deeply realized that there is hardly anyone who is a true disciple of God. Most people have considered my message only as a tool of giving sermon, and have remembered nothing about ‘The Picture of God’s Will’. Every plant and tree has its own root, and the root is longer and more abundant than the part above the ground, but they disregard it. Thus, I have wept a lot. I lamented that there is no one who can deliver ‘The Picture of God’s Will’.

More than comforts for my flesh, I have wanted comforts for my soul. This is what I want from God, also the truth that Jesus Christ wrote with His blood, truth that the Holy Spirit loves and works for. I sincerely love elder Cho Sang-Ho, my friend, my eternal coworker, who has comforted my flesh and soul during my lifetime. I want to commemorate my unforgettable saviors, as I feel that I am getting closer to the time of my farewell, having been cut and worn down by time which is like a sharp saw.

Elder Cho! You are really my coworker and the apostle of love. Who else knows Semuon’s heart? I have cried out for with my whole heart, but I feel so sorry about the fact that the truth from my mouth is not fully acknowledged, but regarded as a cheap sermon. However, you have approved my will and my faith which is deep inside of me and cooperated with me. Elder! What should we do? We claim to be the Lord’s servants, but I doubt it. I shed tears whenever I think of you, and I am encouraged. What I want to do is convince people about ‘The Picture of God’s Will’ in their souls.

Thirty-seven years have already passed. When I visited Kuwait, where you were staying at that time, after visiting India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh, I was almost like a beggar. As I had traveled through poor countries, I also became a beggar, reaching Kuwait. From that time, being comforted in your deep love, I have become who I am now.

Elder! You are teaching ‘The Picture of God’s Will’ like my alter ego. We have to teach even one more person as much as we are able. I thank you for devoting your two sons to God, and you are really my coworker. For heaven’s sake, take care. I am praying for you through my tears.

2016.09.11_Commit Your Spirit to the Lord

[Acts 7:54-60]

God
created and gave a spirit to man, as well as a body.
Man’s flesh is a finite existence
which returns to dust after death (Ge 3:19).
However man’s spirit never fades away
though the flesh dies.
Hence
we would need to act with prudence and resolution
regarding the life which will continue
after death (He 9:27-28).
The spirit of the man who have been saved
will be in Paradise when his flesh dies,
and resurrect into an eternal body
when the Lord Jesus returns (1 Co 15:51-52),
to go to heaven.
However for the unbeliever’s spirit,
a terrible punishment that lasts for eternity
will be waiting for them (2 Th 1:8-9).
For this reason,
we must commit our spirits to Jesus Christ (Ac 7:59)
whilst we are still living in the flesh
so that He may lead us by His word.
The works of the Lord Jesus and His words
are power and the only way to heaven and eternal life (Jn 6:68).
○ Let us use up our flesh in order to fulfill
the duty and charge given by our Lord (1 Co 15:58).
○ Let us live in closeness to the Spirit of the Lord
who will later resurrect us.
○ For the work of saving souls is a privilege of those
who have entrusted their spirits to the Lord,
let us prepare our hearts to evangelize.

to the word
which the Lord is giving to our church.

Summary

To Whom Will You Commit Your Spirit Which Lives eternally

God created humans’ soul, and gave them flesh. For mankind, the soul and body cannot be separated. However, the way of the soul is totally different with that of the body. Worldly people go in the way of body. In fact, since this world is optimized for the way for body, in order to seek the benefit of soul, the body has to accept various inconveniences. So, in a saint’s life there has to be conflict between soul and body.

Nevertheless, for mankind there is a duty that they have to carry out. According to how they have done for the duty they go to heaven or hell. In other words, they, no matter what kind of hardship, must believe in Jesus Christ and escape death. They have to abandon the world that rushes toward death and turn to the way of heaven. This opportunity must not be missed. However, unbelievers do not even admit the existence of the soul. Though the soul is the master of a person, unfortunately, flesh reigns in that person.

Even though the lifespan of flesh is very short, the desire of flesh is very strong. Flesh is bound in its senses and reacts sensitively to emotions. Moreover, flesh is so selfish and requires so much that it is very reluctant to be generous. Flesh blocks the way for the soul with all kinds of sinful desires, and when time is up, it does not take any responsibility for the soul and just leaves. On the contrary, the soul does not perish, and must enter the world which is to come. It is the soul that needs care. Once flesh returns to the dust of the ground, it no longer needs care, but the soul is different.

Then, to whom must we commit our soul? We are the ones who have committed our souls to Jesus. After we part from our flesh, we (our souls) will rest in paradise, and on the very day of the Lord’s second coming, we will resurrect and finally enter heaven. On the other hand, an unbeliever’s soul will remain in Hades (universe), trembling with fear, and will be resurrected on the day of punishment and will be thrown into hell. Therefore, whether entering heaven or being thrown into hell, everyone will resurrect and gain an imperishable body.

A Saint’s Resurrection Is Wearing Spiritual Flesh With the Word of Christ.

Jesus was resurrected, and so will we who are united with Him. However, the resurrection that we will experience is different with that of Jesus. Our bodies are made of the dirt and dust of the ground, but Jesus’ body is comprised of God’s word. The resurrected body of Jesus is the same as the body before he died. His body that was raised is the same body that had been pierced and beaten by a whip. In contrast, our resurrection is not about gaining back the body that returns to the ground, but about turning our soul into the body with God’s word. Therefore, we do not have to remain to the body that we used to use.

What happens to the saints who are alive at the moment of the Lord’s second coming? They will experience the transformation of their bodies to spiritual bodies in an instant. This does not mean that an unholy body turns to a holy one. 2Peter 3:10 says, “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire.” The flesh from the ground will disappear when the Lord comes again, and since at the same time the soul changes into a body, people would perceive that their perishable bodies change into imperishable ones.

Unbelievers will experience resurrection. Their resurrection is prepared for punishment, which will occur one thousand years later, after the first resurrection of saints. Since the soul cannot sense without its body, punishment is meaningless. The body enables sense, sense enables pain, and then punishment works. After unbelievers receive an imperishable body, they will be thrown into hell. This is the second death.

Let Us Commit Our Spirit to the Lord

Now, there exist two kinds of worlds: faith and unfaith. Unbelievers are not willing to believe the news of salvation that believers deliver, and won’t even to listen to it either. Among them some even do not accept the existence of life after death, and others commit their souls to their descendants. For them, their descendants are the people who are responsible for their lives after death. Apart from them, we are those who commit our souls to Jesus.

Stephen, one of the ordained deacons in the early church, was killed by the Jews while he was testifying Christ. Right before he died, he saw the Lord standing before His throne, and at that moment he cried out, “Lord, receive my spirit!” This confession is considered natural for this time, but it was surprising for him to say that, who had lived in Judaism for his whole life. Stephen, even while he was being stoned by the fierce crowd, prayed for them, saying, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” It was possible for him to do that because he was assured that he would go to heaven and that the Lord entrusted his soul.

The Lord said, “Today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43) This phrase is not just a written word, but the promise of the Lord which is given to us today. The Lord also said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:2-3) By believing this promise, we must commit our souls to the Lord, the Word who became flesh and came to the world. That is because He will take our souls to the house of the Father later on.

Practicing Jesus’ word is the way to commit our souls to Him. The most important thing is to take the duty of God’s work with all of our lives. In other words, we must devote our lives to God’s work, knowing that work in the church is the inheritance of glory from God. Until our lives run out, we must keep our attitude of faith that we committed our souls to the One who became flesh from the Word.

Although we are justified by the merits of Christ, that does not make us automatically holy. The Lord, by entrusting heavenly works to those who became righteous, makes them holy ones. Thus, even if it is very small, and if it is from the Lord and for the sake of church, we have to take charge of it with thanks. By doing so, when the Lord comes again, we will receive a spiritual body and a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom.

Semuon’s Letter

Before we know, time has passed fast, and even though my flesh struggles to sustain, I am pushed by time being pressured by my physical limits. I have lived for more than half a century only as pastor and evangelist, and the very people that have impressed and encouraged me as my coworker are elder Baek Sung Kuk and Lee Keum Ja.

Of course, many church members have done the Lord’s work making the most of their opportunities, but both of them sincerely followed my teaching with all their life and will, consuming all their power for the sake of the Lord’s kingdom and righteousness. As its memorial, Baek Kuk sanctuary and Baek Keum Sanctuary stand firm as the Lord’s temple, growing up as a church that has been bought by the blood of God and loved and cared by the Holy Spirit.

Mongsanpo and Gapyong are truly poor local areas. However, we have built beautiful churches there. We are now seeing the true figure that God said will be written on the book of life and be remembered.

It is not the work that can be done only by much money. It was possible because they were full of hope and obeyed. Also, all the seats of the main sanctuary in the Center were by elder Baek’s devotion where people throughout the world can worship, pray, praise and listen the word of God. Every day I pray at dawn, leaning on the seat, I shed my tears of thanks to him a lot.

Is there any other event that impressed me more than this? I cannot help being excited about this. I cannot express my thanks and impression by any words for them who have become my coworker. I truly believe in God our Father and rely on Jesus Christ’ grace and power forever. And I cannot explain perfectly the fullness of the Holy Spirit in my spiritual life. My body is worn out, but I am doing my best to be faithful to the end time. I picked up my pen to reveal unforgettable, precious memory

Whenever I see both of them, I feel that their kind, peaceful appearance is the copy of our souls. Since I cannot express my thanks by worldly things I am writing this letter. After we remain faithful with our all power to death, we will see the great glory when the Lord calls us.

I believe in God. Even though the world and worldly gods disappointed me, God is the Father of eternal love who never disappoints me. Elder! I never stop praying for you every day. It will be forever. Amen.

God
is the one and only, self-existing One (Ex 3:14)
who is from eternity to eternity.
He is the Creator
who upholds,
governs and cares for all creations
by His word (He 1:3).
However, mankind strayed from God
and committed a great sin of trying to live on his own.
Since then, man has a chronic habit of
taking charge of his life without God,
and thus could not escape the bondage of sin.
Christ, God’s word incarnate
who came to the earth (Jn 1:14),
not only forgave us our weighty sin
of taking charge of our own lives (Eph 1:7),
but embraces us in His arms
and leads us by His word
in order that we may now overcome
the force of such a sin (Jn 16:13-14).
We are the glorious body of the Lord
charged with the duty to guide the souls from the world
into the grace of God (Mt 28:19-20).
○ Through tithes,
let us take the right first step
of our faith life.
○ Let become one body
by relying on God’s grace and favor
in our minds and actions.
○ Let us consider the saints with love and care
and exert ourselves to be a church of remarkable strength.
※ Let us focus our lives
on Jesus Christ.

Summary

Our God is the self-existent God.

The people in this world often view Christians as a minority group. Not only that, they treat actively involved Christians as if they belong to a secluded part of the society, namely, ‘the outsiders’. Are Christians really ‘outsiders’? The truth is, it is the opposite. We are in the center, not only of this world, but of the Universe as well. You will be sure of this once you come to know who God is and what He has done.

God has introduced Himself, as ‘I am who I am’ (Ex 3:14). This means that He is not a creation but that He exists from eternity and to eternity. As God introduced Himself to Moses by saying ‘I am who I am’, He did not need to add further explanation because there is only one self-existent God.

‘I am who I am’ means that He was all by Himself when nothing existed in the world. There was no concept of space before creation took place. Even then, He had held His existence. Thus, we can conclude that all creation exists within God. There is nothing that can be compared to God.

‘I am who I am’ also means that He is the Creator. All things are created by God, belong to God, and serve their purpose for God. In other words, God is the Lord of all things. Nehemiah 9:6 reads, “You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.” Not only did He create all things but He also cares and manages them.

A life apart from the Self-Existent God

The core message of the Bible is that God is self-existent and that men that are led by God will live and men that are not led by God will perish. As part of creation, man maintains his proper state of life while he is led by God. Although the Israelites had taken so many lives in battles, it was not considered a crime because they were followers of the self-existent God’s word. Regardless of an individual or nation, God does not care whether they are right or wrong but whether they belong to God or not.

The world is making its living apart from God. In the Bible, the most well-known case of people perishing apart from God would be Sodom and Gomorrah. They were devoid of humanity, and because of that, all of the people in that city perished. The problem is that the fate of humanity itself is not far from the fate of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah.

What is the cause of our sickened world? The sin that took place in Eden is related to the fundamental cause. Humanity’s inherent sickness, which is to live on its own, derived from The Devil’s seduction. God had given a commandment to Adam that said not to eat the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, but the Devil seduced them by lying and saying that if they ate it, they would become like God. Upon falling for the seduction, humanity turned from God and has fallen to destruction.

With the fallen of Adam, the first man, humanity has separated from God infinitely. And the separation has begun to be thought of as normal. When men’s evil reached its limit, God has destroyed the world by flood. Nevertheless, men’s struggle to live without God has never subsided. They had built the Tower of Babel to sustain their names, and God confused their language and scattered them all over the place. In result, the world is racing again towards a different kind of destruction.

A life that relies on the self-existent God

The Bible shows that humanity’s way of hope is in despair. Abraham is standing at the starting point of the way which God has prepared. He revered God and was never self-conceited although he was a man of knowledge and wealth. We can see his absolute obedience and faithfulness through his actions, to name a few: Offering a tithe to Melchizedek the priest, offering his only son as a sacrifice to God, wholehearted reception of God’s angels. Unlike other people in his time, he completely humbled himself before God and responded promptly to God’s word.

When God revealed to Moses and said, “I am who I am”, the Israelites who lived in Egypt confirmed that the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob was the self-existent God. With an acknowledgment of this, they were led out of Egypt and became a nation led by the self-existent God. God commanded them to fear the Lord with all of their heart and observe the Lord’s commands (Dt.10:12~15). It is because only the life led by God can bring about the true happiness.

Some question, “If God is living, why hasn’t He helped me? Isn’t God just?” Nevertheless, they are misunderstanding God by thinking that He is a humanist or He has given in to social justice. God does not care about ideologies. People say, “Do we have to be bound by God? We have the right to choose our own way according to our rationale”, and to God, it is the same as if they are saying, “We have the right to be destroyed.” They say, “God, I have my own dreams and my own way of life”, and it is the same as if they are saying, “Please do not bother the cancer cells in my body. They have their own right to exist.” They say, “People need to seek their own happiness instead of focusing only on church work”, and to God, it is as though they are saying, “Why are you trying to take our own right to go to the Hell?”

Humanity has entered the wrong way from the beginning. The world is the place where the devil rules and endeavors to separate men from God. For humanity that lives in this circumstance, God has provided a certain frame of life. That is the Commandments. There is a definite will of God because God gave commandments to man. God wants us to live a life under His guidance. The testimony of those who followed His commandments wholeheartedly show vividly that they relied on God and not on themselves (Pm. 119:89~105).

God gives us life; He does not put us into affliction or strip us of anything. Even the breath we are taking right now is possible because of God. We ought to be able to receive all things from God by remembering that God is the Lord of all things. We must fix our hardened-heart that wants to live on its own, and determine to live by relying on God.

Let us be united in Jesus Christ, the head of the church.

Who is Jesus Christ? He is the one who helps us to live relying on the self-existent God. For this, He came to the earth, washed the sinner’s feet, sacrificed himself as the ransom for the sin of the world, and restlessly intercedes for us after the ascension. He also does not leave us like an orphan but helps us by sending the Holy Spirit. God is with us, even in this very moment, and provides us His flesh and blood through the Lord’s servants.

Jesus Christ is not lower than God (Heb. 1:2~3). He is God overall and to be praised forever (Rom. 9:5). Such Greatness had come to the earth and helped us. He edified our weaknesses, cleansed our sins from living on our own, and helped us to become the people who rely on God wholeheartedly. Through His grace, we became the people who rely on God by our own choice.

The church is formed by people united with God in Jesus Christ. God made all things subject to Christ and made him the head of all things. The church is above all things and Christ is above the church. The church is the body of our Lord. The church is the fullness of Christ who fills everything in every way. Jesus Christ is before all things and yet with all things. Hence, everything in heaven and earth are united in Jesus Christ.

God made everything under Christ, however, Christ will make all things subject to the Father (1Co. 15:28). When the day comes everything that belongs to Christ will rise again, and He will hand over the kingdom to God the Father after he destroys all dominion, authority and power of the world (1Co. 15:24). We are helping-servants for the work of the Son, handing over the Kingdom to God. Thus, we ought to take pride in ourselves. We must not lose heart by any affliction or despair. It is because failure cannot stand a chance against us, who serve the almighty God.

Let us discipline ourselves to live by the grace of the self-existent God.

In order to live according to the will of the self-existent God, we need to learn to live by the grace and practice it. Through this, our faith will be edified more beautifully than anything in the heavens and earth. The Lord has revealed that our iniquity to live on our own has derived from the Devil and convicted the Devil. Hence, our life must not be the same as the old. And here are the seven key elements we need to follow in order to live by the grace of the self-existent God.

First, we want to be thorough as we give tithes and offerings so that we can build our faith that overcomes the world. New believers must give tithes and offerings, as well. If you are not thorough about tithes and offerings, your faith can be weakened and this can be an infinitely indelible drawback for your soul. Our faith towards God should be shown through our actions. By them, we can build the faith that overcomes the world.

Second, we need to have successful worship. Worship is a sacrifice to God where we give ourselves as a sacrifice. Hence, whether we pray or praise, the whole congregation must be united in one heart and with a loud voice. The prayer and praise does not take place only when one feels like it. The prayer and praise are not only the saint’s precious duty towards God, but also are the commission, only given to the church, which promotes the Gospel. We need to gather all of our attention when we listen to the sermons.

Third, we ought to fulfill the voluntary work and duties of church thoroughly. Regardless of how busy or important the work of the world is, we ought to strive to succeed in the work of God’s kingdom. For which, we must analyze, mull over, and prepare for a whole week. Since it is a sacred work of God, we must continue this throughout our whole life. Even if we are to die tomorrow, we must do this today.

The forth, we must keep the new commandment. As the people who have received the grace of God, that is our permanent duty to keep until our departure from this world. The new commandment in other words is caring for other saints. Inside the church, there are people who are tempted or heart-broken. If you have received grace you should visit and comfort those who are feeble; help those who are tempted so they can turn around.

Fifth, we must align our will to the church’s direction. The whole church must sound as one voice. Although the work that God continues through the Overseer does not agree with your thoughts, you should be able to align your heart gladly with the church.

Sixth, we ought to pray continually. We cannot live without continual prayer. In order to experience God’s protection against the enemy’s relentless attempt to attack us and protection in advance at every important corner of our ways, we need to pray continually. It is through the power of prayer that we walk with God.

Seventh, the church must prepare itself to be best in evangelizing. It must prepare and reinforce the required qualities to become an evangelizing church. The hard work and cooperation of every single part of the body of the church will lead to an elite church. In accomplishing this, the whole congregation must pray together, envisioning one dream.

Let us rely on the word of the self-existent God. Let us live only by God’s grace. We have the right to get God’s help. We are God’s servant to serve God forever; we are God’s children to please God forever.

Semuon’s Letter

In my soul are only My soul has the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit sent from Him. And in my reason are streams of a river that is comprised of three streams: ‘War, Poverty, and Family’, shaping my Wolsan Literature.

If one understands Wolsan Literature and approaches it, he or she will be of the same heart. While I am strong in grace, love and the power of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, what I want to do at last is to allow all mankind to hear the voice of the Lord through Wolsan Literature.

Everyone is living in the dark night. In fact, we are all travelers who walk through a wearisome life where we cannot see the road ahead. Even in the case of those who are wandering along the path of darkness, being sick, being poor, and being ill-informed, if the moon rises in the dark sky, anyone can look up and see the moon. Even though you cannot look at the sun with your bare eyes, you can easily see the moon. And we are walking through the busy way under the moonlight, like a traveler who does not stumble but hurries on the way that the moon casts light on. There might be no hometown that has any mountains. A hometown has its mountains, and anyone can see the moon rise above the mountains. So, there isn’t anyone with stories of their own hometown.

Even though your hometown has poverty, sickness, or ignorance, even with little hope, you would hope to be prosperous there. Just as those who realize they are nothing and repent become true believers, everyone has his or her hometown. At springtime in your hometown, it is filled with the sounds of frogs, birds, calves, dogs crows, and insects and the blossoms of various flowers. All hometowns have ancestors, good neighbors, and mischievous children. Rains, streams of waters, winds and the smells of weeds too. All of these are reminders of our hometown.

Those who have their hometowns never lie. They are not proud, and try to pay for the grace from their hometown. Look at the field of vulgar politicians. They destroy themselves with their lies. You surely know how cowardly they become during election season. They seem to not know what history really is. Perhaps they are people who have forgotten their hometown.

If anyone can write about his or her life through a poem and make a song, he or she is honest. We must create literature of our hometowns, for the sake of our honest lives. I will devote my soul to Wolsan Literature, the literature of my own hometown. I want all of us to be able to write something to give to our descendants. Even if you die, your writings will remain and serve as a lesson to them.
