[Hebrews 10:19-25]
God
is eternal.
He
gave day and night not only to mankind,
but to all the creatures of the earth (Gen 1:3-5).
This is because all creatures get worn out (Ecc 1:8).
God did not rest on the Sabbath because He was worn out,
but He rested because all His work was finished (Gen 2:1).
He commanded us to remember this Day (Exo 20:8-11).
Faith is to understand that the world was created by God (Heb 11:3).
God commanded all those under the first covenant not to work on this Day.
This is so they will remember the Creator (Mark 2:27-28).
God has now given the Lord’s Day to those under the new covenant.
This is so that we will commemorate the Body of the Lord Jesus
and commemorate that the Lord had saved us on this Day (Acts 2:32).
The Lord Jesus resurrected and revealed Himself to His disciples on this Day (John 20:19-20).
This was also the Day on which the Holy Spirit descended (Acts 2:1-4).
We do not rest on this Day,
but we give glorify God and spread this message to the world.
This Day is not the day for the flesh, but the Day for the spirit.
This is known as ‘the Lord’s Day’ (1Cor 16:1-2, Rev 1:10).
◌ The Lord’s Day is the Day of grace for those who have hope.
What is hope?
Hope is to look forward to the Lord Jesus’ return.
◌ The Lord’s Day is the Day on which we love the Lord
and encourage each other to do works of service for the Lord’s sake.
It is the Day on which we do not stay silent but testify.
◌ Some people have the habit of giving up meeting together.
Where does this habit come from?
It is the deception give the Lord Himself to result in spiritual corruption.
※ Let us attend worship service on the Lord’s Day!
Let us not become spiritually corrupt!
Let us preserve our spiritual life!

As a servant of the Lord, I have been running on this single path my whole life. But I am now old, and my body has recently suffered greatly. In Saint Mary’s Hospital in Seoul – of all the patients undergoing dialysis treatment, they said I was the oldest. It is now difficult for me to go outside alone, and the lower half of my body has become paralyzed. I hope my beloved Sungrak people will not turn away from old servant like me. There are many people who love me and urge me, “Pastor, if you come to this part of the country, please call me and I will assist you in any way possible.” Those who say such things are in no way my enemies. But there are some people who are finding it objectionable that they love me and want to help me. They criticize me for it, and it gives me great pain. If I have gone down to a certain part of the countryside for the first time and have a meal there and try to pay for it, the owner of the restaurant might say to me, “Someone has just paid for you, but has already left”. Such things often happen to me. I do not know who pays for me at the time, but I regard such people as good believers, though I do not know them. There are many people who want to assist an old pastor like me. I ask you: what is it that you will do? There was a woman who entered the house of the pharisee in order to seek the Lord. When she reached Him, she broke a bottle of expensive perfume and poured the perfume on His feet. Mary Magdalene sought the Lord until the very end, remaining under the cross where He was crucified. Later on, she took the same perfume to seek the Lord in His tomb. I ask you: do you have the same mercy as her? How can you despise the simple freedoms of an old servant like me? Is there no one like Rahab to shelter an old servant? Is there no one able to act like the humble ‘donkey’ of the Lord, that they would provide food and water to the Lord’s servant when he has fallen to the ground? Is there no one who will act with this love and sincerity? Even one of my followers used to provide me with one of their credit cards so that I could use it whenever I needed. When I am in prison, when I am sick, when I am thirsty, when I appear as a stranger – what is it you are going to do? The Lord has promised, “Whoever gives one of these little ones a cup of cold water, he shall receive a reward.” The Lord taught us that whoever gives to the least of these who belong to the Lord, they are giving it to the Lord Himself. The bodily strength I once had in my youth has now been disappeared. Instead, I ask to receive your comfort. Sungrak people and Bereans are found all over South Korea and all over the globe. If I come over to you to meet with you in your respective countries, will you distance yourself from me or comfort me? Will you be a mere bystander or assist me? Do not slander those people who desire to assist the Lord’s aged servant? Do not recklessly judge people’s actions that have come from faith. They are not doing this to gain personal favor, but they are doing this because I am a servant of the Lord. Those who act to gain personal favor are acting as religious people. Those who act because I am a servant of the Lord are those who have true faith. This is the same whether they are male or female, young and old. Before this old servant of the Lord leaves the earth, I ask that you have in your hearts the earnest desire to assist me. Joseph of Arimathea had the desire that he could at least serve Jesus’ Body when it was in the tomb. I ask that you have the same truthful love overflowing in you. I ask that you have the love of sending me even a simple pair of socks every year, or perhaps an item of clothing. This is why the Lord told His disciples not to take with them two items of the same clothing or even a bag of money. He expected the same things from them. This weak and old servant of the Lord has once again experienced this cruel world, which has no love and mercy. I say this with tears in my eyes (1 Corinthians 9:11). However, my spirit is at peace and is blessed. Semuon, 1st September 2019
