Those who Receive Revelation

(Matthew 11:25-30)

People cannot know God with their own abilities. To truly know God, we should receive His revelation, and in order to do so, we must come to the Son of God and learn about God from Him.

1. The Humble Ones

Those who resemble little children are the ones able to receive God’s revelation. They understand their complete lack of ability to become righteous on their own. Their humility and purity of heart enable them to place full trust in God. They suffer from their nature because they know well that they have nothing within themselves to please God, and recognize their spiritual bankruptcy. As a result, they earnestly yearn for the grace of God.

2. Those in Despair

The teachers of the law and Pharisees were completely opposed to those who resembled little children. They possessed a strong belief that they were qualified to teach people about God. They divided the Law into detailed rules and regulations, and considered their strict adherence to the Law as their righteousness. Their teachings burdened those who received them, leaving them to despair. It was to such people that Jesus called out, saying, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest!”

3. Those who Submit Themselves

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart!” Learning from Jesus does not mean acquiring theories or knowledge about God; it means becoming more like God in character. Letting go of the worldly methods we are accustomed to can be challenging. However, when we move forward to the Lord with a submissive attitude without judging God’s work based on our own wisdom, God recognizes our hearts to encounter Him. As a result, He will reveal Himself to us.
