The Wrath of God

(Ephesians 5:6-7)

“The Lord has already forgiven all sins, so there is no need to worry about them anymore.” “God is love. He won’t exclude unrepentant people from His Kingdom.” Likewise, some distort the truth to lead others into self-indulgence of sin.

1. The Sons of Disobedience
When we were spiritually dead, we were the sons of disobedience, fully displaying Satan’s nature, especially in our disobedience before God. Yet God delivered us from disobedience and brought us into the way of obedience. However, even though some claim to be believers, there are those who still walk in a life that resists the truth. Can they escape the wrath of God? They cannot.

2. Those Who Are Deceived
The same applies to those who, deceived by them, go on to commit evil. Those who block the truth with unrighteousness feel uneasy committing evil alone, so they draw others into their schemes to act together. Even when people sense that what they are doing is wrong, the involvement of many gives them a false sense of acceptability. Some may not trust their actions, yet, finding their words logical, they surrender themselves to deception. If we are to be faithful to the truth, above all, we must not be deceived by lies.

3. The Ongoing Judgment
Even if we say, “I didn’t know; I was deceived,” we cannot escape God’s judgment, for sufficient warning has already been provided within the system of the Gospel. Therefore, let us not be swayed by relationships or personal interests but instead keep our distance from the sons of disobedience. There is no reason to partake in the sins of those who are already under judgment. They are rushing headlong toward destruction without restraint—this, too, is a form of judgment and serves as a sign of the coming final judgment. Let us unite and boldly fight against false temptations. Let us gather our obedient hearts to fulfill the will of God, who redeemed us.
