The Evidence of All Things
(Romans 1:20)
The existence of all things clearly reveals that there is a Mater Designer of infinite power. Yet people still fail to believe in Him—not because evidence is lacking, but because they deliberately choose not to believe.
1. Eternal Power
The power of God, who both created all things and sustains them, is vast yet intricate. Consider the mystery of a tiny seed becoming a mighty tree, and the order by which the stars never stray from their orbits. The sun burns approximately four million tons of matter every second, providing the heat and light essential for our survival, and our hearts beat more than 2.5 billion times over a lifetime without rest. How can humanity—the greatest beneficiary of all this—deny that such realities are possible only through the gracious provision of the Creator?
2. Contrasting Responses
For those who persistently reject this evidence, the wrath of God will be revealed against them. God has given sufficient evidence—both within men themselves and through all creation. When the Holy Spirit concludes, “No more,” there will be no second chance. But those who respond to God’s evidence are different. Even if they have never heard the gospel, if they long for the One who created all things and seek Him with a sincere heart, God will open for them the way of salvation.
3. Delicate Love
The countless evidences engraved throughout all creation reveal how earnestly God is working to save humanity. For those of us who have already received that love, the burning sunlight and even the cold raindrops no longer carry the meaning they once did. In all these things, we can perceive God’s infinite power and His delicate love. When this happens, the souls around us, too, will be able to discover God through these awesome evidences. Standing humbly before the glory of God that all things proclaim, let us live lives of gratitude for all this grace.
