A Teaching with Authority

(Mark 1:21-28)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
is the self-existing spirit.
He
confined in hades the angels who corrupted in heaven (2 Pet 2:4)
to be kept there until judgment (Jud 1:6),
and sent God’s Son to the world
to save those enslaved to the devil because of sin (Eph 2:1-5).
God’s Son appeared as Immanuel (Mt 1:23)
and was led by the fullness of the Holy Spirit (Mk 1:12).
He stood before people as One who had authority (Mt 1:22).
Since the Gospel of Jesus
is the covenant which came down from heaven, it is the voice of heaven
and the word of God (Jn 1:1-4).
If it is the word of God, it has prestige and authority.
Just as those who receive the word are called ‘gods’ (Jn 10:35),
those who receive God’s word are spiritual authorities (1 Cor 2:13-16).
Therefore,
demons could not hide and revealed their identity (Js 2:19).
As they feared Jesus’ appearing (Mt 8:28-29),
all spirits in heaven, on earth
and under the earth submitted to Him (Phi 2:10-11).
All people
regarded Jesus as One who had authority
because Jesus’ authority and power was shown (Mk 1:27).
○ Those who receive the word of God have authority.
Since they received God’s authority, they have prestige.
○ The word of God is spiritual.
It not only takes away demons, but all tempters.
○ The church should have spiritual prestige alone.
The overseer is entrusted with the prestige of the New Covenant, which has authority.
※ To restore the prestige of the church,
the overseer’s prestige must be restored.
When the overseer has prestige, word will spread and there will be revival.
