God
dwells in glory
He
confined the sinful angels in darkness until
He judges them from heaven – this refers to the dragon (2 Pet 2:4).
He is the serpent of old, also called the devil, or Satan (Rev 12:9).
There was no place for him in heaven and he was cast to earth.
The earth is in darkness, and the devil holds the power of darkness
and oppresses it. Since sin reigned
and death also reigned,
people were enslaved all their lives by their fear of death (Heb 2:15).
They followed the power of darkness – the ruler of the disobedient (Eph 2:2).
When the time came (Jn 12:31),
the Son of God came to destroy the devil’s work (1 Jn 3:8).
Therefore, we do not fear because the oppressive ruler of
the entire world was judged. He is the angel of the abyss (Jn 16:11).
The One who was a light to everyone in the world (Jn 8:12)
also entered our hearts, and we became children of light.
Since children of light live in the light and display it (Mt 4:16),
God is glorified and pleased (1 Tim 6:16).
‘Fullness of the Spirit’ makes the light shine brighter (Js 1:17-18)
○ We are proud to be Christians
because we received the light coming from God.
When we boast in the light, we reveal the One dwelling in us.
○ If we are in God’s light, we will not fall away,
we will sanctify our spirits, and we will be glorified
on the day of the Lord – when Jesus Christ comes.
○ The light appears when we love our brothers and sisters.
It is called ‘light’ when we love as Jesus commands.
We should act and obey like children of light.
