Jesus’ Teaching

(Mark 4:1-9)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
really exists
and His word
is the living word of life (Jn 6:63).
The Bible is divided into the Old and New Testament.
The Old Testament contains the teaching of Moses and the Prophets.
Moses received and conveyed the Law for Israel (Ex 20:1-2)
and the Prophets prophesied about Israel’s future (Num 11:28-29).
Moses and the Prophets mostly received visions (Acts 2:15-21).
These were heard and learned from angels (Acts 7:53).
As Israel’s God, the Angel known as ‘Jehovah’
was entrusted with duties until the Lord Jesus came (Gal 3:19),
and after Jesus came,
the Gospel of the Kingdom was preached to all people (Mt 4:17).
This is the Gospel of salvation for all mankind.
The words and visions conveyed by angels were parables.
Since they were conveyed without seeing the reality,
no understood them (Jn 5:33-34).
Jesus also taught in parables (Mt 13:1-8)
to make these parables understood.
Angels spoke in parables between God and Israel (Heb 9:1-10),
and Jesus spoke in parables between the Law and the Prophets and the world
to make them understood (Jn 16:25-31).
○ The Holy Spirit spoke realities
between Jesus’ word and our spirits – this is the truth (Jn 16:7-14).
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth.
○ Parables are not believed but understood (Mt 13:23).
Those who hear and understand parables are called, ‘good soil’.
○ The truth is not understood but believed (Jn 4:21-26).
The Holy Spirit does not speak parables but realities.
※ If we understand parables and open our eyes,
and believe, obey and follow the truth –
the Word of God (Logos) dwells in our hearts.
