An Unavoidable Battle

(Ephesians 6:10-11)

You say your spirit is safe—just because you’re a believer? You stay still—because you hate conflict? There’s one thing you’re missing—the devil does not stay still. We are at war with him.

1. The Certain Path to Defeat
Those who are not prepared will inevitably be defeated in this war. And who are the unprepared? They are those who rely on their own wisdom and strength. They do not know the enemy—the devil—so they can never win. When the devil casts his bait, simply thinking, “I’ll just listen and judge for myself,” is already a sign of defeat. Can a human overcome the devil—the one who even tried to divide God and His Son?

2. The Devil’s Strategy
Just as a lion silently approaches its prey, the devil uses schemes that are difficult to detect. For this reason, many believers do not even realize they are under his attack. When the Israelites came out of Egypt, they had witnessed God’s miraculous signs, yet quickly turned away from Him—not because they were especially evil, but because the devil’s tactics were that powerful. Those who judge everything by their own standard, out of pride, will inevitably become tools of the devil.

3. The Vigor of Victory
The devil’s activity is not limited to the realm of religion. When the entire world—politics, economics, and culture—moves in connection with one another and begins to emphasize new orders and lifestyles, we must discern that these are spiritual phenomena. The world will call what is dark light, and what is light dark. Even under the name of Christianity, the pressure on the church—through the distortion of Scripture and the spread of false faith—will only grow more intense. To withstand these attacks of the devil and stand firm, we must put on the whole armor of God. This is a formidable war. But the Lord has already won. The battle given to us is an opportunity to partake in His victory.
