The Duty of the Bible

(John 20:30-31)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
is perfect.
He
said in advance what He was going to do (Eph 3:2-4).
These prophecies were spoken through the prophets
and were also announced in advance through the Law (Mk 11:13-15).
God made a covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
This is how He spoke to mankind. There is nothing He did not say in advance.
This is the Old Testament.
Jesus Christ came according to these prophecies (Acts 17:10-12).
He acted and gave commands in person and body.
His work is the food of eternal life and life.
They are promised to us and are spiritual prophecies (Jn 4:21-24).
The New Testament
permits these for anyone with faith.
The Law and the Prophets were fulfilled about two thousand years ago
but Jesus Christ immediately fulfills life for
those who believe the Gospel and accept His name.
Instead of doing this for past people who waited from afar,
He instantly regenerates by the Holy Spirit
those who believe and receive Him today (Rom 8:31-39).
○ Along with baptizing them, He conveys them to heaven.
Those who believe do not belong to the world, but to heaven.
He works on them spiritually.
○ Those who believe have holiness, authority as God’s children, and glory.
Demons (who are our enemies) know this and shake (Js 2:19).
The gift of the Holy Spirit is the sign of the church.
○ So that
we believe Jesus is God’s Son and Christ,
the name ‘Jesus’ was recorded in the Bible.
※ Therefore,
this is not a time when we need the prophets,
but a time when we need to repent and be full of the Holy Spirit.
