Spiritual Warfare

(Ephesians 6:10)

The world is filled with evil spirits. Under their control, people do not cease to commit sin, deception, betrayal, rebellion, and destruction. Yet these evil spirits hide their existence, so people remain unaware that they are under their influence.

1. The Outbreak of All-Out War
As soon as Jesus received the Holy Spirit, the first thing He faced was the devil’s attack. The devil and his messengers felt a deep sense of crisis at the arrival of Jesus. At first, they tried to tempt Him. But when that failed, they sought to kill Him. In the end, Jesus was put to death by people who were under the devil’s control. Yet He rose again, ascended into heaven, and asked the Father—and the Holy Spirit was sent. Through this, the church was born.

2. The Church at War
The church stands in the midst of spiritual warfare. Those who were saved and have become part of the church no longer fall for the lies of the devil and evil spirits; instead, they now stand against the power of sin and death by the power of the Holy Spirit. Yet the attacks of the devil are relentless. He not only blocks the gospel from entering people but also plants lies even in believers—causing them to stumble and manipulating them to carry out his will. As a result, those who were meant to be used for God’s work end up doing the work of the devil.

3. Soldiers of the Lord
Those who become workers of the devil will ultimately be destroyed with him. Many people let their guard down, saying, “I believe in Jesus, so of course I’ll be saved.” But the Lord clearly emphasized that He will judge each person according to their deeds. Anyone can be deceived and become a slave to the devil. Therefore, we must not place confidence in our own strength but be strengthened by the mighty power of Christ. We are soldiers of the Lord, and we are at war. So let us stand against the enemy’s attacks and protect the church.
