The Lord’s Interest

(Mark 12:38-44)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
is the Creator.
He
created all spiritual and physical things (Heb 11:2).
Therefore, all of these
should bow before God’s name (Phi 2:10-11).
The Father is the righteousness of God (Rom 8:14-17).
Serving the Father according to His will is the truth (Jn 6:38-39).
He who is the Son of God
gave His life to serve the Father (Heb 5:7-10).
This is truth and life.
Our faith was determined before eternity,
but God showed His relationship with the Son by revelation (Eph 1:17-19).
We call this ‘faith’ (Heb 11:1).
Since God the Father is glorified through the Son
and the Son inherited the kingdom, power and glory
from the Father,
His name is ‘Jesus’ (Heb 1:4).
Our faith is having one Master.
So faith is submitting to the Master (Phi 2:5-8).
Wealth means ‘mammon’ in Greek and refers to a master (Mt 6:21).
○ We must choose whether
we will serve God as Master or wealth as ‘mammon’.
God is the Master and all things belong to the Master.
○ Unwillingness to give is thought of the flesh and leads to death,
but thinking of God makes the spirit live.
○ There is no ‘much or little’ in giving offerings.
God’s interest is in those who serve with all their strength.
Though we cannot see with human eyes, the spirit knows.
God loves a person’s spirit.
※ Wealthy people can lead good religious lives,
but the poor can lead even better lives of faith.
This is why it says, “Blessed are the poor.”
