Those Who See the Kingdom of God

(Mark 9:1-8)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
is spirit, so He cannot be seen.
However,
the Word who became flesh
showed God the Father (Jn 14:9).
If you see Jesus as a descendant of Abraham and the son of Joseph,
you cannot see the kingdom of God come with power (Mt 13:55),
but if you see Him as God’s Son (who came from His bosom),
you will see the kingdom of God come with power (Jn 3:16).
Jesus resurrected and ascended, and all the disciples
saw the Holy Spirit come down at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4),
but Judas Iscariot became a slave of the devil and could not see Him (Jn 13:26-27).
Though one comes to Jesus and kisses Him (Mt 26:48-49),
those who are already enticed by the devil cannot see His glory (Jn 13:1-2).
The coming of the Holy Spirit
is the coming of God’s kingdom (Mt 12:28).
Since the power of God’s kingdom comes from Him,
demons are driven out by the Holy Spirit’s power.
Those who receive the Holy Spirit belong to Him,
become martyrs and see the glory of the first resurrection (Rev 20:4-5).
When God’s kingdom comes on you by the Holy Spirit, you receive this promise (2 Cor 1:21-22).
○ Just as one of Jesus’ disciples
could not see His glory and perished,
if you blaspheme the Holy Spirit, you cannot be forgiven in this age or the next.
○ Let’s hold fast the confession of our hope and keep ourselves,
and not be enticed and tempted by the devil.
People who deliberately keep on sinning are judged.
○ Those who see the kingdom of God come with power
will rise to go to paradise,
and those in the past who did not see it go to Abraham’s bosom.
※ The rest will be judged according to good and evil.
You do not receive the Holy Spirit with your personality.
You receive Him by the power which absolutely obeys and submits to Him.
