Believe the Gospel

(John 8:21-30)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
judges with justice.
Since He
showed His righteousness through the Son (Jn 16:10),
those who believe the Son are justified (Gal 3:23-24)
and those who do not believe Him are judged (Jn 3:18).
However,
sin reigned even before Jesus’ coming
and all humanity were sentenced to death (Rom 5:12-14).
Therefore,
Christ came to save them from death (Jn 6:39-40).
The righteousness of those who are saved comes from their faith (Rom 4:3-5),
so if people believe after they see His resurrection and ascension,
this is not faith, but common sense.
Faith is to believe the words of those who saw Him without seeing Him themselves (Mk 16:14)
Faith is confidence in what we hope for
and assurance about what we do not see (Heb 11:1-2).
Consequently, believing after you see will result in no blessings,
but believing without seeing is considered righteous (Jn 20:29).
Although some wanted to be saved,
they could not see the Savior, so they were not saved (Jn 8:21).
But some heard the News and were saved by faith (Rom 10:17).
○ He allowed us to hear the Gospel, and we hear and believe.
Those who believe only after seeing will lose their chance.
○ No one has seen or can see God.
Yet we heard the Gospel and believe, so we know He is living
and believe that He gives us grace.
○ Jesus is the truth. His words are truthful.
If you believe Jesus’ words, you believe the One who sent Him
and gain such great salvation by faith.
※ Therefore, you are saved by faith,
you acknowledge Him and are justified,
and you will join the resurrection, though you did not see Him.
