Jesus and Siloam

(John 9:1-12)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
is the Father of light.
He
sent light to the world – He is the Son (Jn 9:5).
God’s light is the Word and He is true (Jn 8:12).
The Word came to the world in the flesh.
He is Jesus Christ (Jn 1:14).
He is the glory of the only begotten Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth (Jn 1:14).
When Jesus (who is the Light) showed Himself to the world,
it was like the noonday sun rose on the world (Jn 9:5, 11:9).
Therefore,
whoever dwells in His light will not stumble (Jn 16:1-3).
Mankind is under sin, so even though they see the sun,
they cannot see the glory of His grace and truth, for they are blind (Rev 3:17-18).
However, our spiritual eyes can be opened by faith alone (Lk 24:44-48).
Faith
is to believe that Jesus gives salvation.
If people open their spiritual eyes, their bodily eyes can open,
and they will prosper and be healthy, just as their spirits prosper (3 Jn 1:2).
He spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva.
He put it on the blind man’s eyes and said, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (Jn 9:6-7).
○ Siloam means ‘Sent’. If those who are sent there obey Him,
they will receive proof that they live.
○ Jesus is the Ray of healing and Doctor of all sicknesses.
Even His saliva is life and power that cannot be wasted.
Jesus is the Word who was shown in the flesh and He is the Savior.
○ The world tries hard not to believe Him,
but they are choosing to destroy themselves. Since they have no faith,
their spirits cannot be saved and gain eternal life.
※ Sinners cannot do the work of heaven.
Only God does the work of heaven,
and only those belonging to Him experience heaven’s power.
