Love the Lord Sincerely

(Mark 14:1-9)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
is love.
He
loves the world because He wants to be loved
by the world.
The foundation of our faith is love (1 Jn 4:8).
It is loving God and receiving love from Him (Jn 14:23).
God first loved us (Jn 15:16).
Consequently, He gave His only begotten Son (Jn 14:24).
As a result, we know, believe and adore His love
and welcome Jesus into our hearts (Jn 14:15-17).
Since religion is to build yourself up,
you only heap up for yourself (Mk 10:17-21).
Christian faith is to abandon and bury your righteousness,
and love only God (Mt 16:24).
A certain woman poured an alabaster jar of expensive perfume
over Jesus’ head, but those who were envious
persecuted her.
This was because they confused serving the poor
with serving God.
The faith of people of the Holy Spirit is love (Gal 5:22-23).
○ The faith of the Christian church is not philanthropic,
but God-centered.
Helping the poor is not faith, but deeds.
○ Loving Jesus and loving people
are different, so loving your neighbor will gain praise
but loving Jesus will gain salvation.
○ We were saved because the Lord Jesus offered His life
and loved and obeyed the Father.
Loving the Lord is waiting for Him.
※ First love God with what belongs to Him
and use for the poor what belongs to you.
Do not confuse faith in God with offering aid.
