The Effect of the Cross
(John 3:11-15)
Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim
God
gains glory from the Son.
God
sent the Word (who was in His bosom) into the world (Jn 1:14)
and the Word became flesh and came as Immanuel (Mt 1:23).
As only Jesus saw and knows the Father,
the Son shows the Father’s glory (2 Cor 4:4).
The spiritual world called ‘heaven’ is full of this glory (Jn 8:23).
He came to this earth to do the Father’s will,
that is, shed blood on the cross (Jn 8:28).
In this way, we saw heaven’s blood and this blood is life.
God’s blood is life and spirit (Jn 6:63).
The blood of man and animals are water.
Things like water cannot redeem sin,
but God’s blood (that is, life) can redeem it.
The serpent is cursed and the world avoids it (Gen 3:14).
The cursed serpent was cursed again and hung on the tree (Gal 3:13).
The cross which Jesus died on was most cursed (Mt 16:24-25).
When He hung on the cross,
we were saved (that is, received eternal life) (Jn 3:15).
The cross is shameful – but to us who are saved –
it becomes God’s power (1 Cor 1:18).
〇 The Son of the glorious God chose the shameful path.
This path is the way and door to heaven.
〇 We are not ashamed of the message of the cross, for we are saved.
This is the Gospel. We are not ashamed of the Gospel,
that is, life and eternal life.
〇 Knowing God’s will is not shameful.
Knowing God and the truth is eternal life.
The Lord drove us here.
※ We are on a shameful boat with the Lord.
The message of the cross (which the world hates) is the power of salvation.
Those who are with the Lord Jesus hang with him on the cross.
