The Path of Following Jesus; the Path of Committed Disciple

(Matthew 8:18-22)

Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
is true.
He
sent the only begotten Son to the world in
order to save it (Jn 3:16).
When the Son of God appeared to the world,
He came as the Son of Man, poor and without power.
He appeared as the lowliest Son of Man who
people avoided (Mt 11:8).
He was homeless and had no place to lay His head (Mt 8:20).
He had no opportunities to hope for (Mt 25:42-43).
Whoever wants to follow Him must be determined (Mt 16:24).
They will be poor, tired, lonely, and
excluded from the world (Lk 6:22).
Jesus did not come to give hope to the world,
but He came to regenerate and bring us to heaven.
Those who go to heaven must completely remove their
worldly garments (Jn 14:1-3).
They only have their spirits, which cannot possess
or carry anything.
A rich person going to heaven is like a camel going through
the eye of a needle, so it is impossible.
Baptism is removing and burying all the desires of the flesh (Gal 5:24)
and belonging to heaven as a new born-again person (Jn 3:3-5).
The Law and the Prophets drew us to the world,
but they ended (Mt 11:13).
God calls us by the Gospel of grace to lead us to heaven.

◎ Understand the reason for believing in Jesus.
It is to be free from sin and live in heaven.
Jesus shed His blood and opened the way.

◎ Because you cannot follow Him by desire or reason,
you can obtain this hope only through faith.
Let’s not believe Jesus to profit the flesh, but let’s be spiritual.

◎ Jesus removed and gave away even His undergarments,
and in regard to the body, He hung on the tree and was cursed.
But He entered heaven by resurrection.

※ Believing Jesus is not about thriving in the world,
but it is to depart the world by baptism and unite with the Lord.
Let’s follow the resurrected Lord.
